| Mike Rembis Witnessing Stupidity Since 1964 |
| Aspiring actor and comedy writer, Mike is a world traveler who has touched four continents, two hemispheres and almost every time zone. He continues to make every a day a journey, because life is for living and the unknown is meant to be explored. And because there is so much more yet to witness. Mike trained in acting at the Venue Theater Collective in St. Petersburg, Florida under the tutelage of Corinne Broskette and Dan Khoury. Since that first step into the Venue studio in 2001, he has performed in several plays, over a dozen films and a handful of commercials. A budding screenwriter and director, Mike has developed a TV sitcom called BEST, about a car rental on an island where nobody needs a car. With a completed pilot to show, he premiered the concept in the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival where he entered two film contests and won the Grand Prize in the Cannes 24 Hour Film Challenge. GREAT FALLS, a drama about a teen who struggles to suppress his violent nature as his world crumbles around him, is his latest screen writing achievement. It was a top ten finalist in the 2007 Boston International Film Festival Screenplay to Production contest, a quarter finalist in the 2008 Scriptapalooza contest and placed in the top 15% of over 5,000 screenplays entered in the 2008 Nicholl Fellowships in Screen Writing. |
