| 2008 Cannes Film Festival. I entered the Flip competition with this logline: A hitman stalks the lone witness to an execution who attempts to evade him in a crowd. They thought enough of my logline to award me with a camera to shoot a 3 minute thriller, which is entitled DOUBLE SUGAR. The moment I got my camera, I learned of the Cannes 24 Hour Film Challenge and entered that too. Armed with only my new camera, a genre: Buddy Comedy, and a title: PERFECT PITCH, I set out to find actors for both films by carrying a sign on a script through the Short Film Corner that read "Actors Needed Today". The results are here for your viewing pleasure. PERFECT PITCH won the Cannes 24 Hour Film Challenge against seven other competitors. DOUBLE SUGAR was the eighth film uploaded to the Flip competition completed a full day ahead of the deadline. Each film was completed in a few hours and edited in a cyber-cafe. |
