Early on, Mike Rembis realized that our existence is temporal, so he set out to record everything he considered valuable to relate this era to future generations. This is the crux of his essays and stories, to serve as a reminder that life is fleeting and singular, and that the mystery of the unknown is to be explored.
Mike's literary works are heavily influenced by his own long list of jobs. Moving away from Detroit in his teens and hitchhiking extensively throughout North America, he found each employment and travel opportunity a challenge to be met. Experiencing life would become his career, and relating his wanderings, his craft. Since the 1980's he has held over a hundred jobs, dozens of acting roles, and has produced several short films. He won Grand Prize at the Cannes 24-Hour Film Challenge, and his screenplays have received high marks in multiple writing competitions. His debut novel, Eternity's Grasp, was a finalist for the Claymore Award at the Killer Nashville Writer's Conference.
He lives in Florida, with his dear, sweet wife of 40 years, and their two cats. Together, they have traveled to remote regions throughout the US and Canada, the Gobi desert in China, the Venzuelan and Peruvian Amazon, Iceland, and many other destinations. They are truly amazing cats and Mike is extremely jealous of their exploits.
Mike is also a master of the Magic: The Gathering card game. He builds decks, plays daily, and is always ready for a match, which only ends one of three ways. Win, lose, or draw. Just like life.
