LOW BUDGET

When novice filmmakers accidentally kill their director and hide his death, his dark web employer forces them to edit snuff videos until he returns.

SYNOPSIS

An accident on set leaves Stephen, Anthony, and Erin without their director. They run a casting call to find a replacement and meet the charismatic actor Damian Lane, deciding to hire him. When Damian learns the scope of the project he declines, however, after seeing that these kids don't know what they are doing, Damian signs on to the project and takes charge, with manipulative plans of his own.

LOW BUDGET is a TV series with a 90-minute pilot feature. It follows these four characters on their unexpected journey from low budget filmmakers to reluctantly being forced into joining a crime syndicate.

Story arc will encompass five 13-episode seasons. True drama will drive the tone of the series with comedy as a natural organic byproduct of the characters and their situations.

The LOW BUDGET pilot episode ranked as a quarterfinalist in the Screencraft Pilot Launch TV Script Contest (2019), as a semifinalist in the Filmmatic Comedy Screenplay Awards, Season 5 (2020), and semifinalist in the NexTV Writing & Pitch Competition (2024).
